Specialized lab diagnostics are an additional tool to help in assessment and
subsequent treatment of some conditions. Dr. Edalati will assess each patient
individually and if such testing is required, she will make the appropriate
recommendations.

Food Allergy Test
This is a comprehensive food allergy blood test using the ELISA testing method, checking for IgG antibodies to different types of foods including different grains, meats, seafood, nuts, dairy, vegetables, fruits and more. Test results also indicate the degree to which an individual is reactive to a certain food, from low to high reactivity, this degree of sensitivity allows us to know which foods must be completely eliminated (for at least some period of time) and which ones can still be consumed on a rotational basis.
The list below is by no means an exhaustive list of conditions that can benefit from proper assessment of food allergens. What’s good for one person is not necessary good for someone else and the impact of consuming foods that you are body is reacting can have detrimental effects on your health. Food allergies are not a new phenomenon. In 100 B.C., philosopher Lucretius wrote “what is food to one man is bitter poison to others” Some of the indications for Food Allergy Test:
- Skin Conditions
- Weight Gain
- ADHD
- Asthma
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Heartburn
- Bloating and Gas
- Ulcerative Colitis
- Depression/Anxiety
- Fatigue
- Fertility
- Headache
24 Hour Urine Hormone Analysis
Depending on the condition, some or all of the following levels of hormones will be tested: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, cortisone.
Some of the indications for Hormone Analysis:
- Adrenal Fatigue
- PMS
- Insomnia
- Fertility Issues
- Miscarriage
- Hot Flashes
- Memory Issues
- Fibroids
- PCOS
- Depression/Irritability
- Chronic Fatigue
- Weight Fluctuations
- Anti-aging
Comprehensive Digestive Analysis
Gastrointestinal related complaints such as bloating and gas, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, infection, malabsorption; other conditions linked to poor digestive health and as a result may benefit from this analysis:
- Antibiotic Use (antibiotics can alter the microflora of the
digestive tract)
- Fatigue
- Skin Conditions
- Autoimmune Disorders
- Foggy Thinking/ Poor Concentration
This is a diagnostic tool that helps identify specific pathogens and the alteration of the bacterial balance of the gut, which affects both the digestive and absorptive function of the gastrointestinal tract and contributes to an array of conditions.
Comprehensive Nutritional Testing
This test is a comprehensive nutritional assessment that is important for a broad variety of clinical conditions including arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular risk, diabetes, autism, various immunological disorders, metabolism disorders and micronutrient deficiencies. It serves as an important guideline for both treatment of different conditions as well as preventatively. Certain pharmaceutical medications such as antacids, oral contraceptives, cholesterol medications, anti-inflammatories, diabetic and cardiovascular medications also deplete the body of certain nutrients, making this test an important tool in detecting any nutrient deficiencies in those individuals who are taking any of these medications.

*Spectrox is a total antioxidant function test which assesses the ability of cells to resist damage caused by free radicals and other forms of oxidative stress.
**Immunidex score is one measurement to evaluate a person’s cell-mediated immune system performance. Specifically, it measures T-cell lymphocyte proliferation. Since immune function is a systemic measure of general health, a higher Immunidex score is generally desired since it means a person can respond efficiently not only to exogenous threats such as pathogens or allergens, but also to endogenous threats like tumors.
Candida Stool Culture
Stool is cultured to detect presence of Candida albicans.
Some of the symptoms of Candida over growth can include:
- Fatigue
- Bloating/Gas
- Headaches
- Lack of Concentration
- Mood Swings
- Bad Breath
- Sweet Cravings
- Chronic Nasal Congestion
Heavy Metal Toxic Analysis
Heavy metals disrupt different systems in the body including the nervous, hormonal, and immune system. Proper assessment of heavy metal burden and the elimination of these toxic substances can be an important step in the treatment of some of today’s chronic diseases. Heavy metal overload can contribute to different illnesses and can also exacerbate the intensity of some existing conditions.
This is comprehensive test that measures toxic metals such as mercury, lead and arsenic among other metals. |
