Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the components of Traditional Chinese Medicine that incorporates the use of fine needles to stimulate the “qi” also known as the vital energy that circulates the body. When there is an imbalance in the flow of qi, different diseases and conditions begin to surface.

While most people are familiar with the positive effects of acupuncture on musculoskeletal problems such as tendonitis, neck and back pain, sciatica and arthritis, the benefits of acupuncture go well beyond treating these conditions.

Acupuncture works well acutely for conditions such as diarrhea, headaches, sinusitis and ear infections as well as chronic conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, hypertension and chronic pain. It is used in women's health for conditions such as fibroids, PMS, menstrual cramps, chronic urinary tract infections and menopause.

It is also effective in fertility and pregnancy related issues. Acupuncture is often used as an adjunct to treatment programs for weight loss, cancer, depression, MS, asthma, IBS among many more conditions.

Chelation Therapy
Chelation therapy is used to treat toxic heavy metal accumulation in the body. A comprehensive test is first done to measure toxic metals such as mercury, lead and arsenic among other metals in the system. Different chelating agents are administered to remove the toxic metals from the body.

Clinical Nutrition
Implementing a healthy diet is usually the first step towards treating any condition. Clinical nutrition includes analysis of diet, nutritional consults, and dietary and supplemental recommendations such as vitamins, minerals, and enzymes as needed. In some cases, food sensitivity testing is highly recommended as more and more conditions are linked to food allergies and sensitivities.

Craniosacral Therapy
This is a gentle approach to balancing the craniosacral system in the body, which includes the bones, nerves, fluids, and connective tissues of the cranium and spinal area. Any restrictions in these areas can result in sensory or motor dysfunctions; craniosacral therapy assists the body in breaking these restrictions and bringing the body back into balance. This therapy is useful for a range of conditions including back/neck pain, sciatica, whiplash, tinnitus, migraine, emotional difficulties, sinusitis, Meniere’s disease, jaw pain, pregnancy related issues and infant complaints.

Cupping
Cupping is an ancient therapy, having a history of use going back thousands of years. The technique involves applying therapeutic cupping glasses to the area/meridian to be treated. It helps to stimulate lymphatic circulation, enhance energy (chi) flow, clear toxins, release congestion and stagnation and relieve pain. Some of the conditions treated with cupping include fibromyalgia, joint and muscle pain, headache, neck pain, sports injuries, insomnia, bronchitis, asthma, constipation and overall stress.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture which is also known as cosmetic acupuncture has long been used in the Orient, and has made its way to North America, gaining popularity among many hollywood stars such as Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow. It is a combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and nutrition used to create a healthier glow from inside to outside.

It is a safe and effective treatment used to eliminate fine lines and prevent further wrinkles, treat puffiness, acne, and lift droopy eyelids. Some of its effects include enhancing muscle tone and skin contraction, eliminating puffiness by stimulating circulation and lymphatic drainage, and harmonizing hormonal imbalances and tightening pores. It also provides an overall rejuvenating and energizing effect on the entire body as this treatment includes an overall assessment of the body, incorporating points that affect the entire body health.

Homeopathic Medicine
Homeopathy was founded in 1796 by German scientist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. Homeopathy is an art and science that is based on the concept of “Like Cures Like”. It is a gentle, safe, highly effective medicine based on prescription of small doses of different natural substances prepared with precise standards. Homeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body’s innate power to heal itself resulting in long lasting effects.

"Homeopathy cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment and is beyond doubt safer and more economical and most complete medical science." -Mahatma Gandhi

Bach Flower
Bach flowers remedies/essences originate back to the 1930’s and were discovered by British physician and bacteriologist Dr. Edward Bach. In his pursue to treat the person rather than the disease, he researched and discovered 38 remedies to address and remove the emotional roots that give rise to physical manifestations of disease. The mind-body connection was of utmost importance in his treatment approach.

The remedies are made from infusion of different wild flowers and plants. These essences help to restore the balance in the system and treat the individual on a holistic level. They gently remove negative emotional patterns and feelings of fear, worry, anxiety and sadness. This allows the body to revert to its natural state of peace and stillness which allows the body to heal itself of any physical symptoms/dis-ease.

The remedies are chosen based on your current emotional state as well as temperament and personality traits. Each remedy is specific to a pattern emotions and personality characteristics; making Bach flower therapy a very individualized treatment. The correct remedy is determined through a consultation with Dr. Edalati.

The remedies are gentle and safe for adults, children and pregnant women. In fact, Bach flowers work very well for pregnant women who experience any irritability, mood changes, or nervous tension during their pregnancy or have anxiety and worrying around the birthing process. And since many herbs are contraindicated during pregnancy, Bach flower remedies are one of the treatments of choice during this time.

Hydrotherapy
Using the healing power of water with heat and cold applications to treat different conditions and boost the immune system to prevent many diseases.

IV Therapy
Intravenous therapy allows for vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to be directly delivered to the blood circulation and to the cells, hence allowing maximum absorption of vital nutrients and a means by which large doses of such nutrients be administered. This therapy is also very effective in boosting the immune system and in enhancing sports performance for athletes. Other conditions that benefit from this therapy include adrenal fatigue, chronic fatigue syndrome, cancer, fibromyalgia, sinusitis, cold and flu, digestive issues such as celiac, crohn’s or IBS, and depression. It is also used preventatively for antiaging and for enhancing overall vitality.

Lifestyle Counselling
Diet, exercise, environmental factors, stress, mental and emotional factors, all have a direct effect on physical and emotional health. Naturopathic doctors are trained in assessing such lifestyle factors and in providing wellness programs to help improve lifestyle and optimize health.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a medical technique invented in 1952 by a French physician Dr.Michel Pistor. It is the natural, safe, very effective, non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Currently over 15000 physicians across the world use this effective technique. In 1987, it was given formal recognition by the French Academy of Medicine. It is only now that mesotherapy is slowing making its way to North America and gaining much popularity.

This technique involves small injections into the mesodermal layer or the middle layer of the skin. The injections include the use of different natural substances including vitamins, amino acids, homeopathics, and herbal extracts; all of which work in weight loss and cellulite treatment. These natural substances dissolve fat under the skin and shrink the fat cells, taking inches off your body and leaving your skin looking smooth and rejuvenated. For example, one of the most commonly used substances is called phosphatidylcholine (PPC). PPC is a derivative of soy lecithin. It works as fat emulsifier. PPC stimulates the release of stored fat and removes it from fat cells.

Phytotherapy (Botanical Medicine)
This is the use of plants and plant extracts for their healing, medicinal properties. This is also commonly known as herbal medicine. Many herbs are the foundation of today’s pharmaceutical drugs with the advantage that there are no side effects when herbs are used in their natural form. There are many different forms of plant preparations such as capsules, tinctures, teas, essential oils and ointments that may be used depending on the individual’s condition.

Traditional Chinese Medicine
This is based on medicine developed over 3000 years ago with a focus on balancing the body through the smooth flow of Qi (energy). Creating an internal physical, emotional and spiritual balance is the basis of good health. This form of medicine includes the use of tongue and pulse diagnosis and incorporation of these principles into treatment protocols such as acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping and nutritional therapy from a TCM perspective.
