Are Your Hormones Balanced?

Fatigue, dry skin, low mood, anxiety, insomnia, hair loss, menstrual cramps, weight gain, chronic constipation, cold hands and feet, do you suffer from any of these symptoms?

These are just some of the symptoms that may be a result of a hormonal imbalance. Our thyroid hormones, adrenal and sex hormones interact effortlessly and have tremendous impact on all our systems but only when they are working harmoniously with one another.

Hormones act as messengers in our body and when the balance among the various hormones is lost; the interactions and communications in the body become dysfunctional and show up as an array of symptoms.

The most obvious cause of hormonal imbalance is aging such as the decline in estrogen levels as seen most pronounced during menopause. But aging is only one of the factors involved. Poor diet, environmental toxins, birth control pills, cosmetics, and stress are other contributors to hormone imbalances. More and more we are seeing younger individuals being affected by hormonal imbalances and its many detrimental effects on the body. Many cases of hormonal imbalance are being missed or misdiagnosed because of the diversity of symptoms ranging from psychological to physical and the fact that appropriate tests are not being performed.

There are different ways of diagnosing hormonal irregularities. At Wellness Naturopathic Centre, one of the tools we use to assess the different levels of hormones is a 24 hour urine test analysis. This kind of analysis allows us to see which hormones are out of balance which then allows us to implement naturopathic treatments to reestablish the balance.

Optimal liver health is also of key importance to any hormone treatment since much of our hormones are metabolized through the liver. At Wellness Naturopathic Centre treatments are always individualized for each patient and will vary depending on what hormones are affected and the degree of imbalance. Therapies such as nutrition, homeopathics, herbal medicine, and bioidentical hormones are some of the therapies used to help not only enhance the levels of the depleted hormones but stimulate the body’s natural ability to produce its hormones the way it is naturally built to do so.

Suffer no more, restore your hormones and enjoy a fresh sense of vitality!.
